Vitreous luster; sensitive to acids. Deposits in Myanmar, Brazil, India, Kenya, Madagascar, Mexico, Norway, Sri Lanka, South Africa, and the United States. Apatite cat’s-eye is known.

• yellow, green, violet, purple, blue, pink, brown, colorless
• phenomena: chatoyancy
